Based in Cornwall I am an electronic engineer that has been involved in electronics since a boy of about 12 years old. It all started when living in Hertfordshire, Philips advertised on TV the EE8 Electronics Engineer kit leading up to Christmas of 1967. This started my adventure into electronics and boy hasn't it moved on in that time.
I got involved in computers when I saw the Compukit UK101 in the Practical Electronics Magazine, in 1979.
I built one, and that was it I was hooked. I expanded it with 32 K of memory, a floppy disc drive (5 inch), EPROM programmer, and other goodies.
1960's Electronic teaching kit
I worked for Rank Leisure Machine Services repairing Fruit Machines, Game machines, Jukeboxes, Pool tables etc until I decided to further enhanced my education between 1994 and 1998 at Cornwall College Camborne with an ONC and HNC in Electrical and electronic engineering. A couple of years later I started working for the college as a technician and lecturer in the electronics (technology) and IT departments. I studied Cisco CCNA and then moved onto the sponsored curriculum coarses studying -Voice and Data Cabling, -IT essentials and Unix. I left the college in 2008 to start my own business, but I have been teaching in the college on a part time basis every year to this very day.
Today I design and build electronic circuits to customers requirements. I also repair audio equipment (mainly commercial). This includes Amplifiers, Mixers, lighting and effects, including lasers, smoke machines etc.
If you need something designed and /or built please get in touch so that we can discuss your project.
